We’ve shot in some pretty spectacular places, but Shane really took the “destination” part of destination wedding photography and videography to a whole new level—literally. We swapped our hiking boots for boarding passes and headed to Spanish Fork, Utah, for a proposal that was quite literally above the clouds.

The Ultimate Flight Path

The plan was as smooth as the jet’s engines. We took off from the Spanish Fork airport and headed straight for the most iconic neighbor in the valley: Mount Timpanogos.

As we reached the peak, the views were absolutely wild. There’s something about seeing those jagged Utah ridges from a private cabin that makes you realize just how lucky we are to call this state home. As we soared over the summit, Shane decided it was time to add a little more “sparkle” to the scenery.

Looking Fly in the Sky

Can we just take a second for the style? Usually, when people fly, it’s sweatpants and neck pillows. Not these two.

Angie was a total vision in a slim, white dress that was the definition of “modern chic.” She looked absolutely radiant, even with the high-altitude sun streaming through the windows. Shane kept it effortlessly handsome and “cool-under-pressure” in a fitted green polo and cream pants. They looked like they stepped right off the cover of a luxury travel magazine. When Shane dropped to one knee in that cabin, the aesthetic was 10/10.

The View from the Lens

Capturing a proposal mid-air is a bit like a beautiful, high-stakes dance. As Utah wedding photographers and videographers, we had to dodge the snack tray to get the perfect angle, but it was worth every second. The contrast between the luxurious, sleek interior of the jet and the rugged, raw beauty of Mt. Timpanogos made for some of the most unique shots we’ve ever taken.

Angie’s reaction was everything—pure shock, a few happy tears, and a whole lot of joy. It turns out, “Yes” sounds even better when you’re flying at a few hundred miles per hour!
